Une belle reconnaissance pour notre programme éducatif qui permet aux élèves d’explorer l’Océan et de découvrir les sciences marines. Et, c’est également une illustration de la manière dont la recherche scientifique de pointe, associée à des actions de médiation scientifique, peut enrichir l’enseignement et rapprocher les élèves des enjeux de la recherche actuelle.
Et si ce n’était qu’un début ? Après la Physique-Chimie, peut-être retrouverons-nous bientôt plus d’océanographie apparaître en mathématiques, en SVT, en géographie… ou ailleurs ! En attendant… le meilleur moyen de se préparer est de suivre le programme adopt a float !

adopt a float makes a splash in France’s Physics & Chemistry Exam
This year, ocean observation and the adopt a float program featured in the Physics & Chemistry section of the French national middle school exam. Through a question focusing on Argo profiling floats, pupils were encouraged to apply their knowledge in a practical scientific context.
This is a wonderful recognition of our educational program, which enables school students to explore the Ocean and discover marine sciences. It also illustrates how cutting-edge scientific research, combined with science outreach initiatives, can enrich teaching and bring the students closer to the challenges of current research.
What if this were just the beginning? After Physics and Chemistry, perhaps we’ll soon see more oceanography feature in maths, life and earth sciences, geography… who knows where it will surface next? The best way to be ready is to follow the adopt a float program!
